Do I need to uninstall older versions of NetMarks Manager when upgrading to a new version?
You do not need to uninstall older versions of NetMarks Manager before upgrading to a new version. Assuming the new version is installed to the same location as the previous version, NetMarks will recognize all of your existing databases and bookmarks, and no data will be lost during the upgrade.
If you wish to backup your databases before upgrading, choose the File -> Database -> Backup option from the NetMarks Manager menu.

Is it possible to have more than one bookmark database in NetMarks Manager?
NetMarks Manager allows you to manage more than one bookmark database, though typically you will only use the default database that opens whenever you start NetMarks Manager. The default database has the filename NetMarks.xml.
Following the release of Version 2 the support for multiple databases now includes the ability to create and open new databases as well as delete an existing database, or backup a database to the file system or a disk. Use the options available from the File -> Database menu.

How does NetMarks Manager integrate with Internet Explorer and Firefox?
Integrating NetMarks Manager with Internet Explorer can be done simply by selecting the Tools -> Web browser -> Integrate with Internet Explorer menu option. This adds a NetMarks Manager toolbar button to Internet Explorer and the menu item Tools -> New NetMark to the browser Tools menu.
With Firefox choose the menu option Tools -> Web browser -> Integration with Firefox which will download the Firefox extension for NetMarks Manager from the Weta Software website. Installing the Firefox extension will add toolbar buttons and menu options for NetMarks Manager to Firefox.
From either of these new browser options you can use NetMarks in a similar way to how you would use your Internet Explorer favorites or Firefox bookmarks. Clicking the NetMarks button or the menu option will start NetMarks Manager if it is not already running, and prompt you to save the website address you are currently viewing (or a website address from any other open browser window).
NetMarks Manager also allows you to import your current Internet Explorer favorites, Firefox, Mozilla or Netscape bookmarks, and will re-create the directories and bookmarks in its own database.

I am having trouble integrating with Firefox.
When you choose the NetMarks Manager Tools menu option Web browser -> Integration with Firefox a new Firefox window will open that will download the Firefox extension for NetMarks Manager from the Weta Software website. At the prompt, choose to open with Firefox (default).
Once downloaded, the Firefox Extension Manager should prompt you to install the NetMarks extension. Choose the Install Now option.
If the Firefox Extension Manager does not automatically open, choose the option to Save to Disk when prompted. Once downloaded, drag the extension file (called NetMarks.xpi) into the browser window to trigger the Extension Manager (or choose the Firefox menu option File -> Open File, and select the NetMarks.xpi file from the location where you have downloaded it to).

What is the fastest way to find a bookmark using NetMarks Manager?
There many ways you can rapidly find bookmarks using NetMarks Manager.
NetMarks Manager has powerful and extremely rapid search functions in both the Windows-style Explorer Aspect, or the web-style Web Aspect. In the Explorer Aspect you can enter a search word or words and query your bookmark names, notes, descriptions, web addresses or keywords only, or make a full-text search based on all the information stored about your bookmarks.
Your recently accessed bookmarks are highlighted, and a available from a menu option. If you have minimized NetMarks Manager to the system tool tray, you can choose whether to have recent bookmarks or your favorites instantly available from the popup tray menu.
You can store your favorite bookmarks in the favorites view, that lets you quickly access your most frequently visited sites. From Version 2 your favorites are now also available from a menu drop-down.
NetMarks Manager also has the classic Index view (for folders) that you can navigate through to find bookmarks and arrange your bookmarks according to subject area.
If you prefer to look at your bookmarks like browsing the web, the new Web Aspect enables you to view your folders, all your NetMark bookmarks, or just your favorites in a browser-style interface, as well as provide search functionality. Using the Web Aspect is an intuitive and fast way to find the bookmarks you are looking for.
